London spent £9billion
on an Olympics designed to inspire a generation'. No input from the rest of the
country? Really? Any reference to the true cost of the London Olympics being
£24bn, the vast majority of this spent on upgrading public transport
infrastructure? What about the bonuses paid for underground drivers to work
during this period? The athletic legacy might not have been all that was
expected, but London, and Londoners, did very well out of the Olympics. The
rest of the country just got the bill.
