Zambia's World Cup hopes suffer blow

Zambia's 2014 Fifa World Cup hopes are fading after Sudan claimed a 1-1 draw in Ndola on Saturday.
It was a match leaders Zambia needed to win to stay top ahead of the crucial Group D decider against second place Ghana this September. The Black Stars should claim three points away to Lesotho on Sunday.
The game started off on feverish pace as a war of attrition ensued for the opening 35 minutes.
Jacob Mulenga had a great chance in the 33rd minute but hesitated and defender Tahwel Hassan stole the ball to pump it up field.
Two minutes later, Christopher Katongo had a chance but was wasteful. Sudan returned from the break looking menacing, putting pressure on the home side.
Zambia weathered the storm in the 57th minute but again was poor in front of goal with Mulenga nodding a glorious header wide.
Mulenga made no mistake in the 70th minute when he taped-in a close range effort from an Fwayo Tembo free kick to ease the pressure.
However, Zambia's lead was short-lived when Mohamed Kokok Abdella fired in from close-range off a set-piece, instantly putting a dumper on Zambia's celebrations.
Zambia then threw everything at Sudan, but the visitors held on to pick up their first away points in Group D.
